Dragon's Maze Spoilers-True or False #1

Today I am starting a new "series" because my Gatecrash true or false post was so popular. Dragon's Maze, if you don't know, is the third set it the Return to Ravnica block. I found another Magic blog (Find him here) and he does alters and has a couple posts about Dragon's Maze. Because there are 16 cards, I have I will do maybe 3 or 4 posts and maybe there will be more. I don't think that all of these cards will be coming out in Dragon's Maze but there will probably be something like them.

1. Wizards will probably do some variation of Ral Zarek because on their Dragon's Maze page is has the art of Ral Zarek on it.

2. This is the first of ten Legendary Lands. I hope Wizards doesn't make Ten Rare lands. I personally don't like Shocklands because the common guild gates are almost the exact same thing.

3. As you might see, the Golgari watermark is off. I said the exact same thing. I am assured that when he made them he didn't have the correct symbols.

4. Last one on this post. I decided to make four posts each with four cards. This is the Izzet gate.

Make sure to comment about your favorite cards and if you think they really will appear in Dragon's Maze.

  1. That Ral Zarek ultimate is SOOOO bad. I dont think the wizards would print something that bad... especially not while Tibalt is still in standard.

    1. Tibalt... most underrated planeswalker I think. On topic with Ral Zarek of the Izzet... I don't think that if they make him those abilities are what he will have. Jace, the Mind Sculptor's brainstorm ability is now a +1 for Ral Zarek; Ral Zarek's second ability is pretty interesting; The ultimate ability is just insane. Its not something I think they'd do because most people wouldn't want to ulti their planeswalker to have it exile itself and give everyone fresh hands, though it doesn't reset the board state. I think he may be a planeswalker, just not sure about the abilities or the hybrid mana, though he'd be the first hybrid planeswalker and Wizards of the Coast likes making firsts.

    2. Also forgot to point out that Ral Zarek's ultimate ability isn't so bad when considering we still have that griffin that allows us to cast cards from exile. The griffin's name escapes my memory at this moment.

  2. I like Shocklands. I hate paying for them, or playing them untapped only if a specified Basic Land is already present. "Boros Precinct" would be killer!

  3. there is no way ever that wizards of the coast would print those lands, they are functional reprints of dual lands and wizards of the coast made a verbal agreement that they will not reprint them. there was a law suite on it before and if those get printed there will be a law suite again. stupid assumption that they would print those get your facts straight

    1. You, Lucas Morales, are the epitome of all that is bad about the online world. Your opinions are perfetly valid and may be correct for all I know, considering I have no knowledge of MTG, but it seems that your rude comment was entirely an attempt to appear superior and, in that regard, it was an absolute failure. The author if this post stated he didn't "think that all of these cards will be coming out in Dragon's Maze," which you would have know had you actually read the post. Also, your failure to use the English language correctly automatically invalidates anything you might have to say. The next time you decide to post a misinformed diatribe on someone else's blog, you may want to consider using proper capitalization and punctuation and correcting run-on sentences. I am not quite sure what a law suite is, but I certainly hope that if you ever find yourself in one, you behave with more decorum than you currently are.

    2. These are nowhere near functionally the same as ABU duals. They do not have basic land types.

ABU duals are affected by cards that affect basic land types. These would not be.

Ergo, they would not be functional reprints. That said, I mocked these up Nov 13th of last year.

    3. there is also the fact that if these are Legendary lands, therefore the Legends Rule applies. only one of these lands may be in play at the same time on EITHER side of the battlefield. these do NOTHING to affect the state, value, or playability of the ABU lands. they cannot be fetched, the don't play off of other abilities, they are non-basic, and they can become a wasteland with only needing to play the land.

    5. there's also the fact that these are legendaries. the legends rule does still apply for legendary lands. that was the worst part about playing 2 pendelhavens in a deck. strongly affects their playability and usability.

    6. There is a single card that can fetch up gates, but it is a creature and that creature is a minimal use creature used only in defender decks. As for functinonal reprint of ABU duals... not even close. These cards are legendary and have no land types. They are simply gate duals that come in untapped. They likely won't see play in Legacy if they are actually going to get made into real cards.

  4. Yeah as cool as carda like "Boros Priscint" would be, they wouldn't print them. It basically is a no condition dual land. And responding to the "Shock Lands are almost the same thing as guild gates" section, not only can you search for shocklands (With Farseek or Ranger's pathpath) but it also can count for effects that require a mountain or another basic land type to be in play. (Wild Nacatl, etc) not being a jerk. Just trying to inform people

    1. incorrect. the condition is the legends rule. just like Geist of Saint Traft, or a planeswalker, they are subject to the rule that only one of that card may exist on the battle field at a given time. if another should be played, both will be destroyed.

    2. Agreed James dean, think about this we have gates, core set dauls, innistrad dauls, shocks In standard. I highly doubt wizards are going to make more dauls.

    3. we have core set dauls, innistrad dauls, shocklands, and gates in standard no way in Hell will we see a different set of duals legend or not. wizards won't have that

  5. I keep hoping for 4 more 4 ability planeswalkers. 1 for each color besides blue. Rumor is Wizards won't do that again because of Jace, the Mind Sculptor. The fact Jace, the Mind Scupltor had 4 abilities wasn't what made him so over powered, but what those abilities were are what made him over powered. I've toyed around with creating planeswalkers on Magic Set Editor (MSE) and even made a 4 ability planeswalker. They can be fairly balanced if abilities are given to them correctly.
