Card of the Week

This card of the week is a rare land from Return to Ravnica. You might be thinking, is it Hallowed Fountain, or Temple Garden, or Overgrown Tomb, or Blood Crypt, or maybe even Steam Vents? Nope, it is Grove of the Guardian. It doesn't come into the battlefield tapped, so it is better than a shock. It only lets you put 1 any-color mana and not give you a choice for a colored mana. But if you tap 2 creatures you control, tap Grove, and pay 5 mana, you get an 8/8 elemental with Vigilance. I think this is better than any shock, but of course all the shocks are practically the same. An 8/8 is totally insane, especially in a deck where you can populate it.
